Meet new friends and gain more knowledge

A photo club is a great way to learn photography and meet new friends and to share mutual interests. Just about any town or city of any size has one or more photo clubs.  If you decide you are interested, visit the photo club first and get an idea of what they are all about. Photo clubs come in many different varieties. No two are alike. They come formal and informal. A formal club will elect officers and have tax status. An informal club will have a meeting date, most monthly, and have disussions and view members photos. Dues are normally expected, as any organization has some type of expenses. Expect to pay between $15:00 and $25.00 yearly, which is normal and well worth it for the information you can expect to gain. Many clubs are organized for a purpose and feature a particular type of photography or activity. Nature centers are a popular location for a camera club, as they often offer a room for club activities. Libraries and banks are also other possibilities.
